Taking A Horseback Riding Vacation

My fiancé and I struggled for several months to come up with an appropriate honeymoon vacation. We had to consider how much money we had available to make the trip. Basically we had to come up with something inexpensive yet fun. We talked about the traditional spots like the Pocono’s and such but when my fiancé suggested a horseback riding vacation I knew that we found our perfect honeymoon getaway.

However, my fiancé thought about it and did not feel it was very appropriate for a honeymoon. We continued to debate the issue. After some coxing he agreed to go on a horseback riding vacation for our honeymoon. My fiancé handled all of the arrangements.

Our wedding day finally arrived and we exchanged our vows and celebrated with our family and friends. First thing in the morning we left for our horseback riding vacation honeymoon. I was beginning to have doubts about the idea and I have to admit that I was getting skeptical about the whole concept.

After a few hours of riding in the car, we arrived at the bed and breakfast ranch that offered a great package for a horseback riding vacation. Our room was quaint, but very beautiful and comfortable. We enjoyed a homemade lunch and were taken on a tour of the facility. There was a variety of horses on the property and we had our pick of the lot.

The visitor chooses one horse to ride for the duration of the vacation. I wandered through the stables looking at each of the beautiful animals. Then I saw Kiggy. She was a tall black and white horse. Her mane was long and flowing and she seemed to smile when she walked around.

I requested Kiggy as my horse during our horseback riding vacation. The next morning we went riding. It was wonderful. The owner packed us a romantic lunch and put it in a basket. We ate our lunch under a large oak tree. That evening we were treated to a romantic carriage ride.

The carriage was lit with dim gold stream lights. We watched the sun set on the top of a hill. The trees and clouds reflected off of the lake as the sun set. It was magical. The owner allowed us to take our horses for a midnight ride. They gave us towels and told the horses to go to the lake. We had a midnight swim and rode together on Kiggy while we led the other horse.

Would I recommend a horseback riding vacation as a honeymoon? Yes I would.
